Happy first week of classes. That was the most stressful week I have had thus far, just trying to get my own work done on top of helping those who approach me. The best part is walking through the halls and so many students know who you are. It is an amazing feeling. Before classes even started I was able to volunteer my time with the Hazelwood walk-a-thon. It did rain almost the entire morning but it didn't dampen our spirits (did you see I am punny). Also that day I was able to give back by helping out with Operation Gives Back. That was an amazing experience just seeing the looks on the children's faces as they filled their backpacks with school supplies. Since classes have started I have visited the Rad Tech class to talk to them about the Student Life office and how to get involved here on campus. I also sat in on my first technology committee meeting. That was interesting because I really had no clue what they were talking about. Cathy and I sat down and talked about what she expected out of me as an ambassador liaison for the CPAS mentors. I was even able to pitch her an event that I have been thinking about. The scariest part of my week was the anxiety I had over working the welcome desk, which turns out to be not stressful at all. On Friday I closed the week with some poster hanging. This was interesting because I wasn't sure which bulletin boards to hang posters on, so I hung them on every one.
